That ’70s Tigra
Posted by Matt in Avengers, Tigra, tags: Avengers: The Initiative, Claws of the CatIt’s remarkable just how much simpler things were for Greer “Tigra” Nelson back in 1972, when she first appeared as the titular character of The Cat #1. For starters, she ironically wasn’t an actual cat - the claws were metal and she was a human in a cat costume - not a lioness who grabbed whatever was at the top of the underwear drawer before leaping into battle. And while these days we identify Tigra and her crazy life with songs like “No Children” by the Mountain Goats, even her musical references were more innocent back in the day.
Things have certainly changed over the years - even the slang was more innocent back then!
