It’s remarkable just how much simpler things were for Greer “Tigra” Nelson back in 1972, when she first appeared as the titular character of The Cat #1.  For starters, she ironically wasn’t an actual cat - the claws were metal and she was a human in a cat costume - not a lioness who grabbed whatever was at the top of the underwear drawer before leaping into battle.  And while these days we identify Tigra and her crazy life with songs like “No Children” by the Mountain Goats, even her musical references were more innocent back in the day.

Things have certainly changed over the years - even the slang was more innocent back then!

Ok, I’ll be honest: I have no clue what Graviton bonking Tigra on her fuzzy chin has to do with the awesome Mountain Goats song, “No Children”.   I suppose that the song’s title, at least, does seem appropriate in light of recent Marvel Comics events, as Tigra is currently pregnant with a litter of fake-Hank Pym-Skrull kittens - and, amazingly, hasn’t yet determined the best way to handle the situation.

If I may offer a suggestion, one which I think even readers with the most conservative political leanings would agree with?

I prescribe a fifty giga-volt Dr. Doom Mega-Alien abortion and 2 bottles of Xanax!

The first bottle would be to get over the shock that you were so low you hooked up with Henry “The Wasp” Pym.  The second bottle would be for - well, you know, evil alien babies and all that.

Anyone who has ever been in a screwed up love/hate relationship should hear this song, its chicken soup for the jaded-heart soul.

Now that I think of it, this should be Tigra’s theme song!
