Comics legend, storytelling genius and all around awesome guy, the late Will Eisner would be 94 years young today (March 6, 2011). Google is paying tribute with this charming logo featuring his creation the Spirit, and the architecture/lettering mash-up style that was the title's hallmark, often imitated by Eisner devotees in later years (notably Frank Miller, but really the list is endless).

There's nobody who works in, or enjoys, comics who isn't indebted to Will. Happy birthday, and a tip of the hat, to my fellow New Yorker.
