'Daredevil: Reborn' series announced

Daredevil Shadowland
Marvel Comics has announced a new Daredevil miniseries which launches in January, spinning out of the conclusion of current Marvel event Shadowland
Daredevil: Reborn was unveiled at Fan Expo Canada by Marvel Comics manager of sales and communications Arune Singh. Comic Book Resources reports that although the plot and characters of the miniseries are yet to be revealed, current Daredevil scribe Andy Diggle will be writing the new series.
The announcement comes after a number of teaser images were released by Marvel asking who the new 'Man Without Fear' will be, with one character's name in particular being mentioned.
"It feels like it's time for a Gambit book," senior editor Steve Wacker said about the longtime X-Men character. "I love the visual - Gambit has been on my mind a lot lately."
The anouncement of the Daredevil: Reborn series strongly hints that Matt Murdock will no longer be Daredevil at the end of Shadowland. It was also announced that any fallout from the series will be explored in a title called Shadowland: After The Fall
Daredevil #512 marks the end of the current series, with a shocking conclusion promised for the finale.

Hoo-boy.

Daredevil has been among Marvel's most consistently excellent titles for several years now, and Shadowland is going great. In light of that, and remembering the recent mishaps surrounding the return of Steve Rogers, this seems like exactly the wrong time for this.

But, like I said, things have been going spectacularly on the DD creative front, I'm gonna hold my breath and hope that holds true through this turbulence.

As far as Wacker's statement that Gambit has been on his mind a lot lately - that strikes me as somehow either disingenuous or a little bit creepy.
